Wish to have a deeper connection with God?

What do you think happens when the light and energy of the sun is replaced with calm and peace of the moonlight? What happens when everyone goes into a deep sleep, humans and animals alike? Well, it is the night time, and also, one of the most powerful times to engage and connect with the divine powers that surround us. The calm and peace that coves us all, gives humans the perfect time to get in sync with the energies of the universe and ultimately realise the powers of the divine.

And even during the nights, the ‘Ratri’, there are 4 nights which are considered to be the best to connect with Gods, their energies, and their love. Here we mention which are those 4 Ratris and how they are helpful in connecting you to God.
2/6

Mahashivratri - The great night of Shiva

Every year, we have 4 Shivratris, but, the most powerful of them all is ‘Mahashivratri’. The night of Mahashivratri is said to be one of the most energetic and spiritually favourable nights of the whole year, and thus us when Lord Shiva’s power and energy can be felt the most. It is believed that on Mahashivratri the cosmic energy of the Universe, of Lord Shiva, and of us humans, is perfectly aligned to make us feel and realise his energy and his love.

On the night of Mahashivratri, when the distractions of the world are all asleep, devotees get a chance to meditate upon the name of Shiva and feel a closer connection to him.

Krishna janmashtami

Krishna Janmashtami, the night of the birth of Lord Krishna, is another extremely powerful night. It is believed that on this day, centuries ago, Vasudev, the father of Lord Krishna, endured the rains and the turbulent rivers to help Krishna reach to safety in the home of Yashodha and Nanda.

The night of Janmashtami is filled with love and positivity as devotees wait for the birth of Shri Krishna, after midnight, and when he is born, the world cheers for the birth of the Lord.

4/6

Diwali

The night of Diwali, also known as Kaala ratri, is another very powerful night for Hindus all over the world. During Diwali, the power and strength of Maa Kaali and Maa Lakshmi is said to be at its peak. The night of Diwali is a symbol of the win of light over darkness, and good over evil.
People light diyas, fire crackers, decorate their homes with lights, and much more, all to invite Maa Lakshmi into their homes. The night of Diwali is believed to be perfect to perform any ‘Sadhanas’ or to engage in deep meditations and rituals.

5/6

The Navratri

The Navratri, or the 9 nights of Maa Durga, are also some of the most powerful nights during the year. Navratri celebrates the 9 forms of Maa Durga, from the one who grants peace and wisdom, to the one who protects us from all kinds of evil.
During Navratri, the nights are believed to be filled with the energy of Maa Durga and her forms, from Maa Siddhidatri to Maa Shailaputri, and devotees pray to them on the basis of their nature and strength. It is said that praying to Maa Durga during the 9 nights and days of Navratri helps people with strength, wisdom, knowledge, and protection from evil.

What to do during these nights?

To invite the power of these deities during specific nights, one of the best things to do is to meditate upon their name. On Mahashivratri, think about Lord Shiva, his ascetic nature, him being the ‘Adiyogi’ and meditate upon his name. Chant his name, chant the Mahamrityunjay mantra, listen to the Shiv Tandav Stotram, or the Lingashtakam, and surround yourself with Lord Shiva’s energy.
On the nights of Janmashtami and Diwali, chant the name of Shri Krishna or Maa Lakshmi, and pray to them to give you all that you deserve. Ask Shri Krishna for wisdom and for love, and ask Maa Lakshmi for wealth, abundance, and peace.
During Navratri, pray to Maa Durga to protect you from harm, chant mantras, and ask her for forgiveness for any wrongs and ills.
