The procession of ‘Vishwarang’ in the valleys of Bhopal echoed with the melodious waves of song and music, bringing together the scene of unmatched rituals. In Rabindranath Tagore University, on Monday morning, Sur Parag Vrind of Jabalpur buzzed with Rabindra Sangeet, and in the evening, Kaushiki Chakraborty’s voice mixed the charismatic colour of singing bound in rhythm and rhythm. This was a melodious beginning for the international festival of literature and arts, ‘Vishwarang 2022’. This is how the ‘Kala Utsav’ started with the eight-day grand gathering created in the beautiful images of culture. It formally inaugurated the ceremony on Monday morning with a mass anointment of flowers on Tagore’s statue in the open space of Tagore University surrounded by lush green hills.

Announcing the launch of the festival, Vishwa Rang Director-Chancellor Santosh Choubey said that in its fourth edition, Vishwa Rang is presenting itself today in the cultural capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, with its new creation.. Today Vishwarang 2022 is spreading its colors in the campus of the University with the blessings of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

Along with this, Kolkata’s musicians, Shubhavrat Sen and Manas Sarkar, together gave spiritual dignity to the entire campus by playing the tune of Gurudev’s prayer songs on Dotara. This auspicious time of inauguration was further enhanced when the Sur Parag Art Group of Jabalpur sang Tagore’s poems filled with love, nature, prayer and patriotism.

Before starting the cultural program of the evening, Vishwa Rang Director Mr. Santosh Choubey said that Vishwa Rang has now become the biggest festival of the country. When it started in the year 2019, 12 countries were included in it, but today more than 50 countries have been included in Vishwarang. Mayor Malti Rai was also present as the chief guest in today’s program. He welcomed Kaushiki Chakraborty on behalf of the city.

Musicians from Kolkata Shubhvrat Sen and Manas Sarkar together gave spiritual dignity to the entire campus by playing the tune of Gurudev’s prayer songs on Do Tara. Composed on the lead vocals and arrangement of noted singer Taapsee Nagraj, this wonderful musical allegory became the anthem of humanity through a dozen of Tagore’s poems. Twenty artists has transformed into a thrilling experience the concept of music composer flute player Muralidhar Nagraj and the unique experiments of Sridhar Nagraj. From Tagore’s classics ‘Ekla Chalo Re’ and ‘Amar Shonar’ in Bengali to the national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’, this bouquet had all the colours and fragrances that floated in Gurudev’s Rabindra Sangeet and have been throbbing in the soul of the whole world for years.

In the Rabindra Bhavan in the evening, the taunt of ‘Vishwa Rang’ was created around Kaushiki’s classical singing, in such a way that the auditorium was filled with listeners much before the time. Training and Riyaz are the assets of his talent, which has enhanced the legacy of Patiala Gharana with a new end.

Murad Ali’s sarangi, Tanmay Devachke’s harmonium and Yashwant Vaishnav’s tabla kept the river of notes flowing from Kaushiki’s throat in such a way that the music’s affection kept flowing in this caravan. Kaushiki chose “Bandish hovan lagi saanjh, lakhon mein ek chun chun bulawaye to sing….”. The bandish of this raga had such an impact on the mood of the audience that was engrossed in the pink knock of winter that the audience was engrossed throughout.

Sometimes the mind was engrossed in the tunes of the raga and sometimes it remained engrossed in the melody falling from the voice of Kaushiki.

Talking to the audience in the program, Kaushiki Chakraborty said that she was overwhelmed by the way she was welcomed in Vishwa Rang, she said that whenever Vishwarang or Rabindranath Tagore University will be called, she will definitely come to the city of lakes Bhopal.
