Atal Asra Yojana: Goa's housing scheme for tribal communities explained; check eligibility, how to apply

To uplift housing conditions among Scheduled Tribe communities, the Goa government has a financial assistance scheme of up to Rs 3 lakh for the construction, reconstruction and repair of houses under the Atal Asra Yojana.The scheme is available to Scheduled Tribe families in Goa with an annual household income of up to Rs 3 lakh. Beneficiaries can seek assistance either for constructing or reconstructing a house, or for carrying out repairs, but both benefits cannot be availed for the same property.The scheme has two slabs of assistance:Two conditions must be met to be eligible:1. The applicant must belong to a scheduled tribe community of Goa.2. The total annual family income must not exceed Rs. 3,00,000.The application process is entirely offline and there is no online portal. Here is how it works:Address: 5th Floor, Patto, Panaji, Goa – 403 001.For all applicants, regardless of whether it is a new construction, reconstruction, or repair:For new construction and reconstruction specifically, two additional documents are required:Ownership documents of the land, or a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the landownerConstruction licence from a competent authorityFor all construction and repair cases, a detailed cost estimate from a registered engineer, architect, or contractor, one who is registered under PWD, GSIDC, or any government department or autonomous body, must also be submitted.Atal Asra Yojana is a housing support scheme for Goa's tribal population. Eligible Scheduled Tribe families in Goa with an annual income of up to Rs 3 lakh can apply for financial assistance under the scheme to build, reconstruct or repair their homes.
