On New Year’s Eve, a shocking massacre takes place in a lodge where a private party of twelve is underway. Six guests are brutally murdered, while another girl dies after slipping on the stairs in panic. All of them come from influential families, which keeps the incident in the spotlight.
Even after a year, the case remains unsolved. A special officer is brought in to investigate, and he begins to go through hours of CCTV footage. From here, the story takes us back to the incident, told largely through surveillance visuals. Most of the film is presented in this format, which gives it a raw look, but it also becomes tiring and repetitive after a point.
As the officer unravels the mystery, the killer is revealed to be Surya, a room boy at the lodge. Surya is not just an employee—he is an aspiring actor from a village in Uttara Karnataka who comes to the city chasing his dream. An aspiring director spots him, casts him in a short film, and introduces him to Method Acting, urging him to live as the characters he plays, whether blind, transgender, or even a psychotic killer.
The film then shifts focus to Surya’s life: his struggles with acting, his complex relationship with the director, his bond with a girl, and the events that slowly push him toward violence. The central question becomes whether the killings were the result of Surya’s unhealthy immersion in method acting or a deliberate act of revenge.
The tone of the film is grim and disturbing. While the idea is intriguing, the execution often feels messy. The CCTV style gives a different angle but doesn’t always work, and the overall flow can feel disjointed. Performances are adequate, but the film is heavy, unsettling, and not meant for all audiences. It will appeal only to those who are open to dark psychological stories filled with violence and moral ambiguity.
