The annual science fest `KHOJ A Journey', based on the 4Es: Experience, Experiment, Ex ploration and Edutainment, was held at Vydehi School of Excellence, Whitefield, recently . The four-day event saw themes in line with today's challenges like Effects of Climate change, Sustainable development and Organ regeneration using stem cells.
Khoj was inaugurated by director of Vydehi Group of Institutions D A Kal paja.
Senior defence officials and scien tists were present. An art exhibition `Mas terstrokes' show cased skills and sensibilities of young students. Special students of Vydehi School also participated with zeal.
Principal Sinia Sajith said, “The aim of Khoj is to inculcate in students an unending thirst for scientific knowledge. Each exhibit had a message and also challenged the audience to do more for the environment.“
Carmel gets resource centre
Carmel High School, Basaveshwarnagar, recently got a resource centre, a storehouse of energy to fuel one's imagination. A mural greets every visitor at its entrance, conveying that Knowledge is Power a tribute to former President, late A P J Abdul Kalam. The centre was inaugurated by secretarytreasurer, KISA Bangalore, Gayethri Devi B.
The school also got a skywalk which now connects the two school buildings, giving students safe access to the resource centre. Excited students viewed the sights and sounds along the skywalk during recess.
Administrator of the school Roshan Menezes said, “I am happy and proud of this addition to the infrastructure and hope that it will be used to the maximum, to rekindle in students the magic of reading in this digital era, leading to new words and thoughts for a progressive future.“
