At Valluvar Kottam, Election Commission officials were seen erasing political wall paintings and images of various parties after the Model Code of Conduct came into force in Tamil Nadu. The action is part of routine enforcement carried out ahead of elections to ensure a level playing field for all political parties. Across several parts of the state, teams removed posters, banners, and painted campaign messages from public walls and government properties. The drive aims to prevent political promotion in public spaces once the poll code is implemented. Officials said such steps are being taken uniformly across districts as part of strict adherence to election guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.
