Congress leader Digvijay Singh suggested that Bharatiya Janata Party MP Jagdambika Pal should be appointed as Lok Sabha Speaker instead of Om Birla. Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP, was seen on camera greeting Pal outside Parliament during the ongoing Budget Session, praising him for the ‘fair conduct’ of Lok Sabha proceedings. Singh told Pal, “You will be a better speaker than…” and added, “Birla ji should leave, and he should replace him.” He also remarked, “We have been together.
