Tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan are escalating as the conflict along the Durand Line enters its third week. Kabul has accused Pakistan of carrying out airstrikes on residential areas in Kabul and Kandahar. In response, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence announced retaliatory drone strikes targeting strategic Pakistan Army installations in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The attack reportedly damaged the Kohat Military Fort and the office of its commander. The strikes came after Pakistani artillery fire targeted areas in Afghanistan’s Khost province near the disputed Durand Line, further intensifying fears of a widening border confrontation between the two neighbours.
