The 24-hour advance purchase airfare for the Delhi-Mumbai route, priced at approximately Rs 14,000, stands among the highest domestic fares globally. Even with the devaluation of the rupee, the last-minute fare for this popular domestic route in India surpasses the prices of similar routes in countries such as the US, UK, Australia, China, South Korea, and South Africa. Notably, Brazil holds the distinction for the most expensive domestic fare, specifically for the short flight between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with the lowest available fare starting at Rs 26,800.
