India smash fastest team fifty in Test cricket history

NEW DELHI: Chasing valuable World Test Championship points, openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal were on a mission when they walked out to open the Indian first innings in the second session on Day 4 in the second Test against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Monday.Having lost two days to rain, India are eyeing a shot at the WTC final and hence a result in their favour would do them a world of good.Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets as India had bowled out Bangladesh for 233 in their first innings on Day 4.And then Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal went hammer and tongs against the hapless Bangladeshi attack.Also Read: Cricket Score Live | T20 Women World Cup Points TableJaiswal opened his account with three successive fours off Hasan Mahmud in the first over. Indian captain Rohit Sharma then got in the act in the next over and smashed the first two balls that he faced from Khaled Ahmed for two consecutive sixes. Jaiswal too hit the last ball of the over by Khaled Ahmed for a four.In the next over, Rohit smashed Hasan Mahmud for a six and the pacer who had rocked the Indian top order in the first Test lost his line and length after the blazing start and overstepped for a no-ball.Jaiswal slammed the last three deliveries of the Hasan Mahmud over for a six and two fours as India registered the fastest 50 by a team in Test cricket history.The Indian onslaught is the first instance of a team scoring 50 runs inside the first three overs in a Test match.
