Kapp shows her class! She has hunted down Sophie Devine, who made 95 in the last meeting against Delhi. That's a big scalp. The impressive Anushka Sharma walks in next, at number 3.
Marizanne Kapp to Sophie Devine, OUT! TIMBER! The nip-backer does the trick for Kapp. At the stumps, on a back of a length, on middle. Devine gets on her toes and looks to work it away on the leg side with a closed bat face. The ball jags back enough to go past the inside edge and it clatters into the top of the middle pole. Jemimah Rodrigues is delighted. 13 (10) for the Kiwi all-rounder. Gujarat Giants are now 19/1.

Chinelle Henry to Beth Mooney, FOUR! Easily done! 14 runs off Henry's first over. Henry slants it across the batter, on a back of a length. Mooney does not try to overhit this one. She backs away and takes a couple of steps down the track before punching it wide of point for a boundary.

Chinelle Henry to Beth Mooney, Leg bye! Inward shape back into the left-hander, on a length. Mooney is beaten on the flick and wears it on the front pad. Half a shout for LBW but that looked to have pitched outside leg and was anyway going down leg. A leg bye is taken as the ball drops on the leg side.

Time to play the game - All set then. The two umpires make their way to the middle, joined by the Delhi Capitals players. Closely behind come Gujarat Giants' opening pair of Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney, two proven performers ready to get things underway. The ever-reliable Marizanne Kapp will bowl the first over. One slip waiting. The countdown is over, and here we go...
Marizanne Kapp is in for a chat - She admits she has not picked up as many wickets as she would have liked, but says as long as the team is winning, she has no complaints. It is only when the results go the other way that it starts to bother her. She also feels that, in what is a relatively new bowling group, the players are beginning to complement each other well. She believes that a few of them, including herself, were a bit off in Navi Mumbai but says the group is now finding momentum. Kapp adds that, considering the start they had to the tournament, every game is important, and they acknowledge how strong Gujarat are. When asked about the no ball she bowled in the last game that would have resulted in a wicket, she smiles and admits she does not quite know how it happened, adding that she has generally been very good at keeping her foot behind the line throughout her career. She admits they have been a bit all over the place with the DRS, but says the team is learning with every game. Reflecting on her batting so far, she adds that she is starting to feel like her old self again.
The captain of Gujarat Giants - Ashleigh Gardner says that they would have wanted to bat first anyway and that the toss did not really matter in the end. She mentions that Sophie Devine, who provided a lot of firepower in the middle order in the last game, is back at the top of the order as Danni Wyatt-Hodge is ill, while Georgia Wareham comes back into the side. She adds that they want to stick to their processes and play cricket the way they want to, believing that this approach can bring success regardless of the team that's playing.
The captain of Delhi Capitals - Jemimah Rodrigues says that they are going to bowl first, as batting in the second innings is better with dew expected, even though it is not much. She adds that from the last game played, the pitch looks hard and the ball is likely to come on nicely, so they are sticking to the same game plan. She reflects that every game offers a lot of learning and that, as a captain, one cannot always get everything right. She confirms that there are no changes to the team.
