North Zone vs East Zone Live Score: Ankit, Dhull hundreds grind East Zone, take North Zone closer to semifinals

Skipper Ankit Kumar and Yash Dhull struck fine centuries to put North Zone in complete command of their Duleep Trophy quarterfinal against East Zone on Saturday.

Resuming with a 175-run first-innings lead, North batted again and reached 388/2 at stumps on day three, leading overall by 563. The pair added 240 runs for the second wicket, combining Ankit’s patience with Dhull’s aggression.

East’s bowlers, led by Mohammed Shami, could not make inroads, with dropped catches compounding their woes. Dhull eventually fell to Riyan Parag, but Ankit accelerated late as North tightened their grip on the match.

North Zone vs East Zone Live Score: Manishi strikes before lunch

East Zone, after electing to bowl, saw little help for fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Mukesh Kumar.

It was left-arm spinner Manishi who made the breakthrough, trapping Ankit Kumar lbw before also dismissing Shubham Khajuria and Yash Dhull. His spell of 3-63 ensured North Zone could not dominate early.

Duleep Trophy 2025 Live Score: Badoni’s counterattack anchors North Zone

Ayush Badoni struck a brisk half-century to steer North Zone to 308/6 in 75.2 overs on the opening day of the Duleep Trophy quarterfinal at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence on Thursday.

His 60-run knock off 60 balls, filled with seven boundaries, played a crucial role in stabilising the innings after a shaky morning against East Zone’s spinners.

Duleep Trophy 2025 Live Score: North Zone tightened their hold on the Duleep Trophy quarterfinal against East Zone as skipper Ankit Kumar and Yash Dhull crafted contrasting centuries on day three. Having already secured a 175-run first-innings advantage, North chose to bat again and ended at 388/2 on Day 3, with a commanding overall lead of 563.

The highlight was a 240-run second-wicket stand between Ankit and Dhull. Dhull played with aggression, racing to his fifty in 49 balls and reaching his eighth first-class ton in 112 deliveries, while Ankit was measured, raising his century in 155 balls.

East’s attack, hampered by Mukesh Kumar’s absence and Shami’s limited spells, failed to contain them. Dropped chances added to East’s woes, before Dhull fell leg-before to Riyan Parag. Ankit, however, pressed on, guiding North into an almost unassailable position, with just one day left in the contest.
