NEW DELHI: Australia and England, the Ashes rivals, are set to clash in a pivotal encounter in the ongoing World Cup, with their fortunes taking divergent paths. Australia is riding high, firmly on course for the semi-finals, while England is barely hanging on with a string of defeats.
Australia, five-time World Cup champions, has witnessed a stunning resurgence, securing four successive victories and currently sitting in third place with eight points.On the other hand, defending champions England have endured a series of defeats, largely due to batting collapses, where they were bowled out for 170 or less in each of their last three games.
