NEW DELHI:
Mumbai Indians have signed South African bowling all-rounder
Corbin Bosch as a replacement for
Lizaad Williams, who will miss the upcoming
IPL due to a knee injury.
Bosch, 30, brings experience from 86 T20 matches with 59 wickets and a highest batting score of 81.
While yet to make his IPL debut, he recently contributed to MI Cape Town's SA20 championship in 2025, taking 11 wickets.
"South African fast bowler Lizaad Williams is ruled out of the upcoming TATA IPL 2025 due to an injury, and Mumbai Indians have signed his compatriot Corbin Bosch as his replacement," MI said in a statement.
Bosch has represented South Africa internationally, playing one Test and two ODIs since his debut last year. He was also added to South Africa's Champions Trophy squad, replacing the injured Anrich Nortje.
His previous IPL connection includes serving as a net bowler for Rajasthan Royals before being signed as a replacement for Nathan Coulter-Nile in 2022.
Bosch's cricket journey includes being part of South Africa's victorious U-19 World Cup team in 2014. His outstanding performance of 4 for 15 in the final earned him the player of the match award.
The five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians will start their 2025 campaign against Chennai Super Kings on March 23.
