NEW DELHI: India won the inaugural edition of the 'Tennis Cricket Tournament 2022', a T-10 format seven-match series played between the visitors and the host nation Cambodia at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh on August 20-21. The series featuring the club-level cricketers was played under the aegis of the India-headquartered International Tennis Cricket Federation.
The series was not recognised by the Cricket Federation of Cambodia. India lifted the trophy after winning all their seven matches. India's Pintu Adhikary was awarded the 'Man of the Series' for his all-round show - 203 runs and four wickets. Rohit Kundu and Anubhav also shone bright, scoring 175 runs and 144 runs, respectively. For Cambodia, Karthi Kumar scored 163 runs and took six wickets, followed by Arunagiri Chandra Kumar (144 runs; six wickets) and De Selva (seven wickets).
The tournament was supported by the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia, Embassy of India in Phnom Penh and Indian Association Cambodia. The opening ceremony was graced by his Excellency, Yi Vesana, Advisor to Royal Government of Kingdom of Cambodia, and secretary general National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia, Tamal Haider.
Kiran Reddy, a leading Cambodian businessman of Indian origin was invited as a special guest.
