Pakistan vs England 2nd Test: Kamran Ghulam replaces Babar Azam in hosts' playing XI

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selectors have announced the playing XI for the second Test match against England, set to begin on October 15 (Tuesday) at Multan Cricket Stadium.
Saim Ayub, who struggled in the first Test, has kept his position as the opener, partnering with Abdullah Shafique. Shafique showcased impressive form in the opener, scoring a stunning century in the first innings, and will be looking to maintain that momentum.
Captain Shan Masood will bat at No. 3. He was in exceptional form during the first Test, contributing a remarkable 151 runs. Masood aims to lead his team to victory and secure his first win as captain.

Kamran Ghulam comes in for Babar Azam at No. 4, making his debut for the national team. Ghulam takes the spot of Azam, who has been left out of the squad following two disappointing innings where he tallied just 35 runs.
Saud Shakeel, the vice-captain, will continue to bat at No. 5. Shakeel has been a reliable performer for Pakistan in Test cricket, having played a crucial innings of 82 runs in the previous match. He will be eager to keep his form and support the team's quest for victory.
Mohammad Rizwan retains his role as wicketkeeper-batter despite a lackluster performance in the first Test. With the omission of key players like Babar Azam and several pacers, Rizwan will face added pressure to deliver runs and make a significant impact.
All-rounder Salman Ali Agha, who scored a century in the first Test, will play alongside Aamer Jamal, who performed decently with both bat and ball. Noman Ali has been included in place of Abrar Ahmed. Sajid Khan and Zahid Mahmood complete the XI.
Pakistan will be desperate to bounce back in the second Test after suffering an embarrassing innings and 47 runs defeat in the first match. Significant changes have been made to the squad, with not only Babar but also Sarfaraz Ahmed, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Shah Afridi being dropped.
