NEW DELHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that fans will be allowed to attend the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 final.Naqvi, who also serves as the country’s interior minister, stated on social media that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has “graciously approved” spectator attendance for the May 3 final, which will be held in Lahore.The 2026 PSL season had earlier been played behind closed doors after authorities urged restrictions on public movement due to soaring fuel prices linked to the Middle East conflict.

Amid the situation, Pakistan’s government had advised citizens to limit travel and work from home as part of wider efforts to manage fuel consumption.Naqvi said that while Sharif was inclined to allow fans into the stadium, the prime minister also stressed that austerity measures remain in place across the country to reduce fuel usage.On the cricketing front, Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, Multan Sultans, and three-time champions Islamabad United have already secured their places in the playoffs ahead of next week’s knockout stage.
