Lungi Ngidi will miss the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan due to a groin injury, according to a statement released by Cricket South Africa (CSA) on November 14th.

Temba Bavuma is also dealing with an injury. Bavuma is recovering from an elbow injury sustained last month and will undergo a fitness test on Monday to determine his availability for the Sri Lanka series. The two-Test series begins in Durban on November 27th.
Bavuma's absence would be a significant blow to South Africa. "His loss would be more keenly felt than Ngidi, with South Africa having depth in their seam department but still at times brittle with their top six batting," the statement noted.
South Africa is aiming to reach the 2025 World Test Championship final. To achieve this, they will need strong performances in their home series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The Pakistan series holds particular significance, featuring matches on Boxing Day and New Year's.
