U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy: Maharashtra get the better of TN

CHENNAI: Maharashtra defeated Tamil Nadu by 6 wickets in their U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy clash at the ICL Ground in Tirunelveli on Tuesday. After being bowled out for 132 in their first innings, TN dismissed the visitors for 148, thanks to Pradosh Ranjan Paul's (6 for 42) show with the ball.
In their second innings, TN managed to score only 173 with Nidhish Rajagopal (84, 11x4) being the leading contributor.TN were in a spot of bother when half their side was dismissed with just 25 on board in the 11th over. However, Nidhish and Arvindh (31) stabilized the innings with their 86-run partnership for the sixth wicket. But once the stand concluded, TN's innings didn't last long. For Maharashtra, left-arm spinner Tanesh Jain (4 for 50) and offie Siddhesh Veer (3 for 63) were the standout performers.
Chasing 158, Maharashtra rode opener Siddhesh Veer's (66 n.o., 7x4) 108-ball knock to cross the finish line. Maharashtra got 6 points for their efforts.

Mohan bowls TN to big win: Left-arm spinner S Mohan Prasath (4 for 23) helped Tamil Nadu score a 154-run win over Jharkhand in their U-23 Col CK Nayudu clash in Ranchi on Tuesday. After being bowled out for 249 in their first innings, TN restricted their opponents to 190. In their second innings, TN were dismissed for 182, setting a target of 242 for the home team.
In reply, Jharkhand were bowled out for just 87 in 29.2 overs. Mohan was the standout performer and was well-supported by Siddharth who returned with figures of 4 for 39.
