USA vs NED Highlights, T20 World Cup 2026: USA beat Netherlands by 93 runs

USA vs Netherlands Live Score, T20 World Cup 2026: The United States, led by Saiteja Mukkamalla's 79 and Harmeet Singh's 4-21, dominated with bat and ball to thrash the Netherlands by 93 runs in the T20 World Cup on Friday.
The margin of victory boosted the USA's net run rate in the group that contains powerhouses India and Pakistan.

It kept alive the USA's slim hopes of repeating their feat of two years ago in reaching the Super Eights.

Asked to bat first in the Group A encounter in Chennai, the USA posted a formidable 196-6 and then bowled out the Netherlands for 103 in 15.5 overs.

Number three Mukkamalla faced 51 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes, while Shubham Ranjane provided the acceleration in the late overs with 48 off 24 balls, including two sixes.

Kyle Klein to Shayan Jahangir, OUT! TIMBER! Kyle Klein has the last laugh. With Jahangir looking to bash every ball, it was always going to be one at the stumps which could have troubled him. And Klein has done just that. Keeps this a touch fuller, outside off and then gets it to shape back in. Shayan Jahangir stays back and tries to loft it without moving his feet, but at the last moment, the ball lands and moves away off the seam. Goes past the bat and rattles the timber. A quickfire knock from Jahangir comes to an end and USA are 27/1 after 2.5 overs!

USA vs NED Live: Shayan Jahangir, Monank Patel open for USA
Netherlands chose to field after winning the toss against USA in the first night fixture of the T20 World Cup in Chennai. The match carries significance for USA’s campaign.

The Dutch team, who have two points from their win over Namibia, made a single change. Fast bowler Kyle Klein returned to the side, replacing Timm van der Gugten in a straight swap. Klein had featured in the first match against Pakistan, while van der Gugten played against Namibia and gave away 21 runs in his two overs.

USA reshuffled their lineup with three changes. Ali Khan came back into the side after recovering from an injury picked up in the game against India. Saiteja Mukkamalla and Nosthush Kenjige were also included, with Andries Gous, Ehsan Adil and Saurabh Netravalkar making way.

Captain Monank Patel said he expects the top order to spend time at the crease early on, focusing on the initial five to ten balls instead of attacking from the outset.

Let's play! The anthems are done and we are ready for the game to begin. The Dutch get into a huddle and then disperse. They are followed by the two USA openers - skipper Monank Patel and Shayan Jahangir. It will be the offie Aryan Dutt to start off proceedings. Monank to face. Here we go!

18:55 (IST) Feb 13

National anthems - Time for the proudest moment in any individual's career. The national anthem. The match officials walk out to the middle, followed by the two teams. It will be the Dutch anthem first, followed by that of the USA.

UAE pip Canada - Meanwhile, in Delhi, the United Arab Emirates have gone past Canada, chasing down 151, but with some nerves, with 5 wickets and 2 balls to spare. They were in trouble at 66/4 but an 84-run stand between opener Aryansh Sharma and Sohaib Khan sealed the deal. Aryansh played till the end and finished on an unbeaten 74, taking UAE to their first win of the tournament and to the third spot in Group D.

Pitch Report - Alan Wilkins and Dale Steyn are near the pitch. Wilkins says that it's a big playing ground as the long hit down the ground is 76 metres. To the sides, he informs that they are 63 and 70 metres. Moving over to the South African speedster, Steyn says that it's a mixed soil pitch. Informs that the first game played here was on red soil, while the second was on black soil. Reckons that this pitch will offer a lot of bounce, pace and grip as well. On the decision to chase, Dale feels that it will depend on whether there will be dew or not. But ends by saying that for now, it is an advantage for the Netherlands as they are chasing, on what looks like a really good pitch.

18:49 (IST) Feb 13

Extreme measures? Hmmm.... some bizarre team changes by the USA. No Gous. No Netravalkar. Remember, it is a do-or-die for the USA. Lose, get knocked out. Win, stay alive.

18:44 (IST) Feb 13

Would have bowled first too - The captain of USA, MONANK PATEL, says that he would have bowled first too. Adds that the pitch looks like a good batting deck and will have good bounce. But also says that they don't mind batting first and putting up a good score either. On the struggles of their top order, Patel says that it is very impprtant to first get in, say for some 5-10 balls and then play the big shots. Feels that his batters were unlucky in the first two games with some soft dismissals but stresses that the intent is to be fearless. On the fielding of his side, Monank agrees that it is important to be a good fielding side and in crucial moments, it is fielding which changes the momentum and helps you win games. On the team news, the skipper struggles for a bit and then remembers that Saurabh Netravalkar, Ehsan Adil and Andries Gous miss out. But while naming their replacements, he is able to remember only Saiteja Mukkamalla and Nosthush Kenjige.

18:42 (IST) Feb 13

Pride ourselves on adapting - The skipper of Netherlands, SCOTT EDWARDS, on being asked about his decision to bowl first, replies that it looks quite a good wicket, adding the factor of dew expected later on. On their batting techniques in the sub-continent, Edwards says that it is a bit different here with the ball coming on a bit later but asserts that the Dutch pride themselves in adapting to surfaces. On the team news, Edwards informs that Kyle Klein comes in for Timm van der Gugten. On Netherlands' excellent record over the USA in T20Is, Scott smiles and says that teams change over the years. Adds that the Dutch played the USA over a year or two ago. However, as far as his side is concerned, the skipper says that it is about playing with the same template that they have displayed so far.

18:37 (IST) Feb 13

USA vs Netherlands Live Score: History and momentum on Dutch side
Netherlands enter this contest with momentum and historical advantage. They are playing their seventh T20 World Cup and have developed into a structured unit with depth in both departments.

Their bowling options, especially at the death, nearly unsettled Pakistan in the opener and helped close out Namibia.

USA, on the other hand, are seeking their first win of the tournament and must overcome a 0-3 record against Netherlands in men’s T20Is. After pushing India and giving New Zealand a scare in a warm-up in Navi Mumbai, USA have struggled to convert competitive phases into results.

With Super Eights qualification on the line, today’s outcome will determine whether USA stay alive or Netherlands strengthen their position in Group A.
18:10 (IST) Feb 13
USA vs NED Live Score: Injury concerns and squad adjustments
USA’s campaign has also been shaped by injuries. Fast bowler Ali Khan is nursing a groin issue, and his absence was felt against Pakistan.

Jasdeep Singh has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2026 T20 World Cup with a shoulder injury, prompting the inclusion of Ehsan Adil, who conceded 39 runs in three overs against Pakistan in Colombo.

It remains to be seen whether Shubham Ranjane, who had hurt his knee, is fully fit. Despite these setbacks, USA’s bowling unit has shown promise, with Shadley van Schalkwyk effective in the powerplay and Mohammad Mohsin and Harmeet Singh applying pressure in the middle overs.

Netherlands, meanwhile, trained for around a week at the Chennai Super Kings Academy, giving them familiarity with local conditions.

USA vs NED T20 World Cup Live Score: USA search for batting response
USA’s bowling has kept them competitive, but their batting and fielding have stalled momentum.

Against India, they reduced the opposition to 77/6 before a dropped chance on 17 allowed Suryakumar Yadav to score an unbeaten 84, taking India to 161/9. USA were then restricted to 132/8. Skipper Monank Patel has scores of 0 and 3 so far, while Andries Gous has managed 6 and 13. Gous, who impressed in the 2024 T20 World Cup two years ago and scored 120 not out in the ILT20 for Desert Vipers, will be key at the top.

USA are yet to settle on an opening combination, having left out Saiteja Mukkamalla after one game despite his strong lead-up form and a 50 off 31 balls in the warm-up against New Zealand.
18:06 (IST) Feb 13
USA vs Netherlands Live Score: Bas de Leede central to dutch plans
All-rounder Bas de Leede remains pivotal to Netherlands’ campaign. Against Namibia, he anchored the chase with an unbeaten 72 at a strike rate of 150 and also claimed two key wickets, including captain Gerhard Erasmus, during the middle overs.

His dual impact underlined Netherlands’ balance and depth, traits they will rely on again. The Dutch batting has explosive options at the top, but their middle and lower order showed vulnerability against Pakistan, collapsing from 123/4 in 15 overs to 147 all out in 19.5 overs, losing six wickets for 24 runs.

Max O’Dowd, who scored 5 and 7 in his first two outings, will look to rediscover rhythm. With Roelof van der Merwe listed at No. 9 and multiple bowling options available, Netherlands enter this game with both flexibility and confidence.

USA vs NED Live Score: Hello & welcome
Welcome to the Times of India's live coverage of the T20 World Cup Group A clash between Netherlands and United States of America, a fixture that carries significant Super Eights implications.

USA need a win to stay alive in the tournament after defeats that have left them with no margin for error.

Netherlands, meanwhile, are looking to build on their seven-wicket win over Namibia, achieved with two overs to spare in a chase of 157.

The Dutch had earlier suffered a narrow defeat to Pakistan but showed control and depth in their bounce-back performance.

With history favouring Netherlands — USA are yet to beat them in three men’s T20I meetings — and both sides juggling form and fitness concerns, today’s contest could define their campaigns. Stay with us for ball-by-ball updates, key moments and tactical breakdowns.

The United States, led by Saiteja Mukkamalla's 79 and Harmeet Singh's 4-21, dominated with bat and ball to thrash the Netherlands by 93 runs in the T20 World Cup on Friday.
