UP Warriorz have signed England wicketkeeper-batter
Amy Jones as a replacement for injured Phoebe Litchfield for the rest of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), the team said on Wednesday.
Litchfield, the team’s leading run-scorer, has been ruled out due to injury. She has scored 243 runs in six matches and is among the top three run-getters this season. Her absence is a setback for UPW ahead of their match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday.

Jones has played 125 T20Is and scored 1,666 runs. She will join the Warriorz for Rs 50 lakh, according to the WPL.
UP Warriorz have two wins and four points from six matches, with a net run rate of -0.769. They will need strong results in their remaining games to improve their position in the standings.
UP Warriorz are currently placed fifth in the WPL points table with four points from six matches
The team has two matches in hand, against RCB and Delhi Capitals. Winning both would take them to eight points, but their progression to the playoffs will also depend on the results of other matches in the league.
