Lionel Messi 'the GOAT': Twitter goes berserk after Argentina's FIFA World Cup win
In what is now regarded as the 'Final for the Ages', Argentina, led by the iconic Lionel Messi, defeated defending champions France on penalties (4-2) in an epic evening at the Lusail Stadium to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Messi, who won the ultimate prize in his last World Cup appearance, scored two goals and Angel di Maria one, but France striker Kylian Mbappe came up with an inspiring late show to score a hat-trick as the regulation time ended at 2-2 and the extra-time at 3-3.
The game went to a nerve-racking penalty shootout where Argentina went on to win 4-2 to clinch their third World Cup title, and the first in 36 years.
