I-League: Spirited Mumbai hold United SC

KOLKATA: Nicholas Rodrigues denied Subrata Bhattacharya a perfect start to his second innings at United SC by scoring in stoppage time to help Mumbai FC snatch a 1-1 draw in their I-League match at Kalyani Municipal Stadium on Wednesday.
The men in purple had taken the lead through Eric Brown just before half-time, but had to finally settle for just one point.United SC, winless in seven consecutive matches of the I-League, moved up to 19 points from 16 games. The Mumbai-based side, on the other hand, has 17 points from 15 games.
Pune FC get past Mohammedans 2-0
Pune FC closed the gap on leaders Bengaluru FC with a 2-0 win over Mohammedan Sporting on Wednesday, reports K Kumaraswamy from Pune Goals from Thongkhosiem Haokip (43rd minute) and Gabriel Fernandez (54') helped Pune FC move one rung up from third place and share the second spot with Sporting Clube de Goa. Both the teams have 28 points each but the Goans have the advantage of having a superior head to head record, as they had won the first leg and drawn the second.
Mohammedans, who went into the game with confidence high after the IFA Shield triumph, stay at 12th spot with 13 points.
