CHENNAI: In a bid to boost their attacking artillery, Chennaiyin FC are likely to go after India striker
Robin Singh in the ISL domestic player auctions on July 10.
The striker has played a key role in
Bengaluru FC's success scheme of things and was the joint highest scorer for the side in the I-League last season with six goals.
What could also play a crucial part in Chennaiyin's bid is the equation which Robin shares with the side's coach Marco Materazzi.
Not long ago, Robin and Materazzi worked in a TV commercial for a sports goods maker. Since then, both have stayed in touch and the former Italian World Cup winner insists on a known face in his squad.
"Chennaiyin FC have a really good team. If they can manage to add more firepower to their attack, they can again be one of the top teams in the competition. With Robin and Marco knowing each other well, it is not impossible that Chennaiyin FC will go for Robin," a source close to the development told TOI on Friday .
