Joshua, Dasanayake top Supercross auction

Bangalore rider Pramod Joshua and Ishan Dasanayake received the highest bids during the auctions of the inaugural Pune Invitational Supercross League.

PUNE: Bangalore rider Pramod Joshua and Ishan Dasanayake received the highest bids during the auctions of the inaugural Pune Invitational Supercross League.
Joshua emerged the most sought after rider with a bid of Rs.1, 10,000 in the MX 1 category from DSK Racing team.
Joshua, who the Honda CRF 250cc bike, was crowned the National Champion in Indian Experts Class (upto 165cc) in 2011.

Dasanayake proved to be the second costliest biker after he was bagged for Rs.1,06,000 by San Racing team, owned by RB Group, a press release said.
Gaurav Khatri was sold for Rs. 1,02,000 by PB Racing team of S Balan Group. Harith Noah was sold to Aranha Racing Team for Rs.1,00,000, the statement added.
Altogether, 35 riders went under the hammer with seven teams bidding for them.
Among the local riders, Vishal Barguje emerged as the costliest as he was won by San Racing for Rs. 68 000.
Seven international riders had confirmed their participation, the release said.
The riders were not part of the pool auction and were allotted to their respective teams through an open draw of lots held after the auction.
All the International riders will be seen in action in the SX1 category.
In a bid to promote the sport, all teams will have a junior rider as part of their setup.
