Kewell stunner seals Everton fate

LONDON: Harry Kewell scored a contender for goal of the season as Liverpool shrugged off the early dismissal of Steven Gerrard to beat Everton 3-1 in a tempestuous 203rd Merseyside derby. An own goal from Phil Neville in first-half stoppage time and a Luis Garcia strike two minutes after the restart saw Rafael Benitez's side take control of the lunchtime encounter.
Tim Cahill headed Everton back into contention just after the hour mark but Everton were themselves reduced to 10 men when Dutch midfielder Andy van der Meyde received a straight red card.
