KOLKATA: A fresh fixture of the Calcutta Football League Premier Division A was released on Friday, with the matches of Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting Club — getting revised.
The revision became necessary after the green and maroons’ opening match against Peerless SC on Friday was postponed because of the ongoing infrastructure development and renovation work at the Mohun Bagan club premises and the subsequent demand from Mohammedan Sporting Club to have the matches of the three Kolkata giants as per the original sequence.

According to the new fixture, Mohun Bagan will start their campaign against Peerless SC on August 5 while Mohammedan Sporting Club will face Aryan Club two days later. East Bengal’s opening match will be on August 9, against George Telegraph SC.
This means all the three teams will begin their season in the Durand Cup with Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting Club facing off on August 2 and East Bengal playing the next day against Army Red.
The new fixture has matches till August 22 with two rounds of ties for the Big Three. Mohun Bagan’s second match will be against Calcutta Customs Club on August 14. East Bengal lock horns with BSS Sporting Club on August 17 with Mohammedan Sporting Club in action again on August 19, when they face the challenge of Southern Samity.
Meanwhile, it was reliably learnt that the fixtures of Durand Cup have also undergone quite a few alternations, including the postponement of the semifinal matches by a day from August 20.
