The Monaco E-Prix turned out to be special for many drivers this season. Rookies Felipe Drugovich and Pepe Marti both claimed their maiden Formula E podiums, and doing so in the iconic city of Monte Carlo made the achievement even sweeter. Andretti driver Drugovich has now spoken about his impressive record in Monaco, despite it being his first time racing there in Formula E. F1 drivers including Gabriel Bortoleto and Oliver Bearman, along with Formula E stars such as Jake Dennis, congratulated him on the achievement.
Felipe Drugovich delighted to secure his first podium in Monaco
Felipe Drugovich finished second at the Monaco E-Prix, sharing the podium with race winner Oliver Rowland of Nissan and third-placed Antonio Felix da Costa of Jaguar TCS Racing.
Speaking about his maiden Formula E podium in Monaco, Drugovich said, “This is such a great thing to do here at this track, I love this place. I think every time I have been here I have had a podium, so happy to keep that going. What a place to get my first podium in Formula E, so I'm really, really happy. Big thanks to the team that could cope with me for the first few rounds when I was not even close to the podium, and now we are doing big things, so thanks to them.
”
F1 and Formula E drivers congratulate Felipe Drugovich
Felipe Drugovich also shared several celebratory pictures from his first-ever champagne shower on a Formula E podium. He captioned the post: “Finally, we had a champagne shower! So happy to score so many points and get my first podium in the category with a P2! Let's go!”
F1 driver Gabriel Bortoleto commented: “Let's go billllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.” Oliver Bearman also reacted with multiple clap emojis in the comments section.
Antonio Felix da Costa called Drugovich a “Superstar!” in Portuguese, while Cupra Kiro rookie Pepe Marti, who also secured his maiden podium in Monaco, commented: “Great Felipe!”
His Andretti teammate Jake Dennis shared a picture of himself hugging Drugovich on his Instagram Stories and wrote: “Congrats on podium mate! First of many.” Responding to Dennis, Drugovich replied: “Thanks big man.”
Drugovich is now 13th in the Formula E Drivers’ Championship standings with 32 points.
