It was Nyck De Vries’ day in Monaco on Saturday as the Mahindra Racing driver ended his long dry spell by taking victory on day one of the Monaco E-Prix. He had struggled for form throughout the season but silenced his critics by securing Mahindra Racing’s first win of the GEN3 Evo era. Not only did De Vries achieve the unexpected, Cupra Kiro rookie Pepe Marti also celebrated his maiden podium by finishing third. Sandwiched between the two on the second step of the podium was Jaguar TCS Racing driver Mitch Evans, fresh from his victory in Berlin just days earlier.

Who won big at Monaco E-Prix Round 9?

Mahindra Racing driver Nyck De Vries had been waiting for a victory ever since his Berlin triumph in the 2021/22 season. He had also struggled to score points this year, with fifth place in Miami previously being his best finish of this season. His victory on day one of the Monaco E-Prix propelled him to 11th in the Formula E Drivers’ Standings with 39 points.
The biggest beneficiary of the Monaco E-Prix was Jaguar TCS Racing driver Mitch Evans, whose second-place finish helped him overtake Pascal Wehrlein in the standings and move to the top of the championship. He now leads the title race with 116 points and five podiums, including two wins.Cupra Kiro driver Pepe Marti also enjoyed a rise in the standings, moving into 10th place with 40 points.
Andretti rookie Felipe Drugovich also delivered a solid performance to finish fourth.

Sebastien Buemi, Lucas De Grassi shine in Monaco once again

Monaco also saw several drivers return to form on Saturday, with many who had endured difficult campaigns finally making it into the points.
Envision Racing driver Sebastien Buemi, who remains a three-time Monaco E-Prix winner, once again made his presence felt around the Circuit de Monaco by finishing fifth on Saturday. His team-mate Joel Eriksson joined him in sixth place.DS Penske driver Taylor Barnard finished seventh, followed by his team-mate Maximilian Gunther in eighth. Meanwhile, Porsche driver Nico Muller crossed the line in ninth place.Lola Yamaha ABT driver Lucas Di Grassi scored his first points of the season by finishing 10th.
