Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has spoken up about his old colleague, none other than the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who moved to Ferrari after spending more than a successful decade at the team. Wolff said Hamilton’s magic is still there and he will be stellar when he is completely in sync with his new car. He also spoke about the environment in Mercedes after Kimi Antonelli filled in Hamilton’s shoes in the team.

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff talks about Lewis Hamilton

Toto Wolff looked confident that Hamilton will bounce back to be a champion again and gave the example of how Hamilton was dominating at the F1 Sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix, which he won. Talking about his magic, he said, “I very much believe that it’s still there,” he said.“If he aligns all his performance contributors and feels he is in the right space and the car is to his liking, he will be stellar. I have no doubt. But I’m also not surprised it has those road bumps,” he added.Further speaking about Hamilton settling down at Miami, Wolff said, “He was with us 12 years – the way of operating. He’s been put in a Ferrari, where his teammate [Charles Leclerc] has been [for] a long time, and his teammate clearly is one of the very good ones.
So from the outside, and speaking to him, it’s a trajectory any new driver needs to go through in a top team.”
Wolff also confirmed that the spirits were high at Mercedes as “George has massively stepped up as a senior driver in the team. Kimi is almost like the young brother that's come in.” He said it was very pleasing to see them work well together. Also Read: Lewis Hamilton believes Ferrari’s F1 struggles are deeper than expected: “Something is holding us back”As of now, George Russell is in the fourth position in the Formula 1 Driver Standings with 4 podiums in six races so far and 93 points.
