KOLKATA: Himmat Singh Rai shot five-under 65 to lead the field after Round One of the PGTI Players Championship at Tollygunge Club on Tuesday. The 2007-08 PGTI Order of Merit champion, Mukesh Kumar was placed tied second after he carded three-under 67.
Chiragh Kumar, Praduman Singh Guleria and Kolkata's Nur Hossain Sardar shot matching 67s to be tied second along with Mukesh.

Star of the championship, former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja, who made his debut as a pro, carded one-under 69 to be tied 12th along with the likes of Shamim Khan and Harendra Gupta.
Jadeja recovered from a poor start after hitting out of the fairways as he was penalised by one stroke in the first hole.
Kolkata-based professionals SSP Chowrasia and Feroz Ali Mollah were both tied sixth at two-under 68. Vinod Kumar, Gurki Shergill, Sheeraz Kalra and Sandeep Syal share sixth place along with Chowrasia and Mollah.
Himmat Singh Rai worked his way to the top of the leaderboard with the help of two eagles and as many birdies at the par-70 the Tollygunge Club course. The Delhi golfer began on a promising note with a birdie on the first where he sank a 20 feet putt.
