Eddie Hall sets retirement deadline ahead of Tommy Fury clash and names dream final KSW fight

Eddie Hall is already thinking about how his fighting career will end, even as he prepares for one of the biggest matches of his combat sports journey. The former World’s Strongest Man will face Tommy Fury on Saturday at Manchester’s AO Arena in a Misfits Boxing main event that has attracted huge attention because of the massive size difference between the two men.

Speaking to Playbook Boxing, Hall made it clear that he does not plan to keep fighting for many more years. The 38-year-old said he expects to retire around the age of 40 because he believes people should not continue taking punches to the head beyond that point. While Hall remains open to competing in boxing, MMA, or bare-knuckle events over the next two years, he already has a dream ending in mind before he walks away from combat sports.

Hall told Playbook Boxing: “In just fights in general, I think I’ve got another two years in me. I’m 40 in two years. I think that’s the age where any human being shouldn’t be getting hit in the head after 40.”

He added: “That’s my timeframe. And whether that gets filled with boxing, MMA, bare-knuckle, whatever. In essence, what I want to do is go out, put my name on the map, put a bit of money in the bank, and if I can finish on a bang, that would be a massive positive for me.”

Hall also revealed that his ultimate goal is to challenge for a KSW world title before retiring. He said: “I’ve got my eyes on a world title in KSW. That might possibly be my last fight… fight for a world title, win, draw or lose and just call it a day, that’ll be my last fight.”

The British strongman has already competed in both boxing and MMA. His boxing debut came against fellow strongman Hafthor Bjornsson in 2022, while his recent MMA run has produced stronger results. In April 2025, Hall stopped former World’s Strongest Man and veteran MMA fighter Mariusz Pudzianowski in just 30 seconds under the KSW banner.

Now, Hall returns to boxing against Fury. According to talkSPORT, Hall expects to weigh around 330 pounds (150 kilograms) for the fight, creating an estimated 130-pound weight advantage over Fury. The bout will be contested over six two-minute rounds with 12-ounce gloves.

Hall believes his size and power can create problems for Fury, while Fury will rely on his boxing experience and movement. The matchup will likely come down to whether Hall can land a big shot early before fatigue becomes a factor later in the fight.
