But what caught the most attention was when Woods stepped away and took a phone call. When an officer asked him to return, Woods said he was speaking to Donald Trump.Speaking on her show, Kelly said, “We now know he called President Trump. As soon as he rolled the car, got out of it and the cops were there, he called the President.
Which is a d*** move, I think. It’s very clear he called to try to get out of this somehow.”She also added that the situation “had privilege written all over it,” questioning how an average person would have been treated in the same moment.

Woods’ situation is not just about the arrest. Police found prescription medications in his system, and he later confirmed he is seeking help. In a public statement, Woods said, “I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”His recent health history adds context. Woods had back surgery in October and also suffered a torn Achilles in March 2025. Before that, he survived a serious car crash in 2021 that badly injured his leg.Trump also spoke about Woods and showed support. He said, “He tested negative for alcohol, as you know. He is under a tremendous physical pressure from his various ailments… He doesn’t have an alcohol problem, but he does have pain.”Kelly, however, stayed firm on her view. She pointed out that the video shows Woods walking away from a crash scene and interacting in a way she believes most people could not.
