According to a recent report, former UFC heavyweight Jairzinho "Bigi Boy" Rozenstruik was arrested in Pembroke Pines, Florida, following a domestic violence incident involving his wife. The arrest report, released by the Pembroke Pines Police Department, contains the details regarding the physical altercation, including an allegation that the fighter bit his wife on the arm.
According to police records, the altercation began while the couple was driving from a storage unit. The victim told officers that an argument escalated after she ignored Rozenstruik, prompting him to slap her hand and knock her cellphone to the floor. The arrest took place on January 19, 2026.
How Jairzinho Rozenstruik's biting incident escalated
The incident involving former UFC heavyweight Jairzinho Rozenstruik and his wife took a bizarre and violent turn on January 19. Things worsened even more when they arrived at a Bank of America. According to the police report, Rozenstruik allegedly grabbed his wife's arm to keep her from exiting the vehicle. Their argument escalated, and the former champion attempted to kiss his wife.
When she refused and called him a "nasty beast," he reportedly became enraged and bit her on her right bicep.
The couple later stopped at Club Fit Plaza, where Rozenstruik allegedly again prevented her from leaving the car. In self-defense, the victim reportedly punched him in the face to escape. The 37-year-old was later booked into the Broward County Main Jail on several charges, including a third-degree felony (bond set at $2,500) and a misdemeanor (bond set at $1,000). Due to his status as a Surinamese national, an immigration hold was placed on him, which can complicate his release, even if bail is posted.
Domestic dispute lands Heavyweight in prison
Jairzinho Rozenstruik was a longtime fixture in the UFC's heavyweight top 10, known for his elite kickboxing and knockout power. However, his tenure with the promotion ended in 2025. At the time of his arrest, he was the reigning heavyweight champion for the Dirty Boxing promotion. Initially, some reports from Surinamese media suggested the arrest stemmed from a "neighbor dispute."
But the official Florida police report specifically identifies the victim as his wife and classifies the charges as domestic violence. As of now, the case remains pending trial. Neither Rozenstruik nor his legal representatives have issued a formal statement regarding the specific allegations of the biting incident.
