With the 2025 MLB season inching closer towards its start on March 27, the Los Angeles Angels’ star Mike Trout’s experiment with his position has finally brought a huge smile on the face of his fans and followers. The reputed center fielder changed his position during the spring season in order to avoid wear and tear that comes along with the particular position. Recently, Mike Trout admitted that he is enjoying his new position on the Angels’ roster lineup.

Mike Trout shares his honest feelings on switching from the center to the right field

After experimenting with his position just before the opening day, Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout is having a great time playing in right field. A strategic move, which was taken by Trout to preserve himself from any wear and tear for the 2025 MLB season, turned out to be working in the right direction for him. Reportedly, he adapted to his new position during the Cactus League and has been thriving at the right field spot as of now. As reported by the MLB Network, Trout happily admitted that he was really loving it in right field after switching from center. He even revealed that his body is responding positively, and he is as flexible as he was at his older position in the team roster. Mike Trout mentioned about his transition-"I'm actually enjoying it a lot. During pitching changes, when I go to center field, it’s like, ‘Man, this is bigger than I thought it was.’
There’s a lot of room out there. But I think just getting the reps and just getting more comfortable , with angles and stuff , and working with the coaches, I think it's been great.”

After a proper discussion with the Los Angeles Angels manager Perry Minasian and Ron Washington, the 11-time All-Star further came to a conclusion that he would be shifting from the center to the right field in order to keep himself healthy for the upcoming MLB season. During a press conference, Mike Trout said-“It went great, and I just threw everything on the table, as in, what's best for me, body-wise, to keep me on the field. Came to the conclusion that I'm going to go to right field. I like it; I’ll try it out and see where it goes.”After slightly over a month since shifting from center field to right field, Angels star Mike Trout shared that he's already felt a difference in how his body feels and has enjoyed the change. This can be seen as a positive move for the upcoming MLB season for the Angels.
