"I'm so happy": Pete Alonso shares excitement for sharing locker room with Juan Soto

Pete Alonso was re-signed with the New York Mets earlier this month. Apart from having to wear the Mets jersey for two more years, Alonso has been excited to share the locker room with Juan Soto. Alonso talked about his excitement for the same during the recent Mets podcast.On Wednesday, Pete Alonso made an appearance on the "Meet at the Apple" podcast by New York Mets, to talk about his mentality heading into the 2025 MLB season. During one of the segments of the podcast, Alonso praised Juan Soto while sharing his excitement about playing alongside him. Talking about the same, he said:"I'm just so used to playing against him; it was like, ‘Wow! I have the potential to be on the same team’. For me, I couldn't wrap my mind around it at first. But then, when things kind of got serious in my contract talks, and I was granted Juan being back here, it was great." "He's such a fantastic player. He's a phenomenal player. Where he'd have gone, he'd help them win. But, by golly, I'm so happy he's with us. Every time you play against him, he has a big hit, makes a big play, or does something special. It's so nice to have him on our side now," Alonso further added.Moving forward in the podcast episode, Pete Alonso expressed his gratitude for the immense support from Mets fans. Talking about giving it back to them this season, Alonso said:"I appreciate that. It's awesome. Being here, I've had success, but I've also failed.
