Now, his presence outside Great American Ball Park will be a lasting reminder of his passion and love for this team and this city.” The unveiling of the Bronze Statue of Marty Brennaman is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, 2025, according to Cincinnati’s Insider, Austin Elmore, who tweeted:“#Reds announce there will be a bronze sculpture of Marty Brennaman unveiled on Saturday, September 6th outside Great American Ballpark.”The site for sculptural installation will be the Great American Ballpark, facing Nuxhall Way in Cincinnati. Brennaman’s bronze statue will be brought to form by a local sculptor, Tom Tsuchiya, who will depict the celebrated sportscaster behind the microphone, per the approved design. Marty Brennaman joined Cincinnati Red Radio Network as a play-by-play voice in 1974. He covered all Reds’ games for about 46 years, giving a livelier, sometimes contentious account of every pitch and hit happening on the diamond to the listeners. He called his last inning on September 26, 2019.When he took over calling Reds games, he teamed up with Joe Nuxhall, and both were popular as “Marty and Joe.” Brennaman’s signature Reds victory call—“And this one belongs to the Reds!"—was a serendipitous creation born in the second game he covered. Honoring Brennaman’s work was not a sudden decision; it was long overdue.
