Enlightenment for feature

PUNE: Last outing winner Enlightenment and Titian are expected to fight out the finish for top honours in the Pra Independence Million, the feature event of the Monday's Pune races. With jockey B Prakash not available after fall on Sunday, it is not known who will ride Titian. On the other hand presence of YS Srinath on Enlightenment will certainly help him run a good race and the gelding may win.
There are 10 races on Sunday and the first will start at 12.30 pm.

Picasso may paint a winning picture
Pesi Shroff-trained Picasso justified the public faith in him and scored a narrow margin win over Secret Service to claim the FD Wadia Trophy (Grade 2), the feature event of the Pune Races held on Sunday.
Day of falls
It turned out to be a day of falls at the Pune Racecourse when three horses fell dislodging their riders in the process.While jockeys B Prakash (Hurricane Henri), Aakash Agarwal (Tamarai) and Dashrath Singh (El Classico ) suffered minor injuries , three-year-old colt Hurricane Henri was put down on compassionate ground.
"He had broken his fetlock of the right fore leg and we had no option but to put him down," said senior stipendiary steward Pradyumna Singh.
