Ishika wins sub-junior Billiards & Snooker C'ship

Indore's cueist Ishika Shah on Tuesday added another feather to her cap by winning state-level billiards and snooker championship in the sub-junior category for the third consecutive year after outplaying her opponent in the final at Nehru stadium.

INDORE: Indore's cueist Ishika Shah on Tuesday added another feather to her cap by winning state-level billiards and snooker championship in the sub-junior category for the third consecutive year after outplaying her opponent in the final at Nehru stadium.
Earlier, Shah, 15, had clinched a bronze medal in under-18 category of the world international snooker championship held in Belgium.

In the state-level tourney organised by the MP billiards and snooker association, Shah left the spectators spellbound with her stupendous performance. She defeated Indore's Purva Sahu in quick successions, 36-19 and 41-18, to win the title.
Shah began the day with easy wins over her opponents and defeated Khushi Singh in the semi-finals, 2-0.
The ten-day-long championship that began on Tuesday will saw players from various parts of the state.
"Matches in various categories are to be played during the championship. Young players like Shah will demonstrate their game at this championship, which will also help in bringing up the talent in the state. A total of 125 players from across the state have taken part in the championship," said Bholu Mehta, chairman, MP Billiards & Snooker Association.
Now, the championship will be played in junior and senior category and will go on till November 25.
Mehta also said that on the basis of the performance in the championship players will be selected for the national-level event that will be held in Pune in the month of January.
