Mizoram pays for fielding overage players

AJMER: Fielding overage players cost Mizoram dear in the National sub-junior and cadet table tennis meet as they were scrapped from the sub-junior boy’s team event that began here on Tuesday. Mizoram’s Lalruat Puiab was one of the three players to be found overage after a pre-tournament medical test and it was after this incident that the TTFI officials decided to bar the state team.
While Mizoram found themselves on the wrong foot, West Bengal avoided severe punishment since their two players, Ronit Bhanha and Udit Bhattacharya, who were also found overage, were not representing in the team event.
