CHENNAI: The Supreme Court has stayed the Delhi high court's directive on revoking the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar awarded to current IOA president N Ramachandran in 2011 and reconstituting the selection panel for next year's Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar.
On August 31, the Delhi high court directed the ministry of youth & sport affairs to revoke the award given to Ramachandran and pulled up the government for changing the composition of the selection committee for the awards and excluding players from the panel.

Hearing the appeal filed by the Centre in October, a bench headed by the Chief Justice of India issued a notice on the matter staying the operation of the judgment until further orders.
WSF president Ramachandran has been under fire lately with members of the PSA demanding his resignation at an acrimonious AGM in Nice, France, earlier this month. "It was a stormy meeting and I'm led to believe that the whole issue was stage-managed. My refusal to be a pliant president, I presume, has not gone down well with everyone," Ramachandran said.
