CHENNAI: As expected, Uttarakhand men will play
Tamil Nadu in the National Basketball Championships quarterfinals. In the pre-quarterfinal on Wednesday, Uttarakhand thrashed Karnataka 107-86.
In the other men's quarterfinal matches on Thursday Services will meet Kerala, Delhi will play Railways while Punjab are pitted against neighbours Haryana who earned their place in the quarterfinals after a tough match against Andhra Pradesh in which they prevailed 93-87.
In the likes of Trideep Rai Uttarakhand has the players to test Tamil Nadu defence. But with key players Yadwinder Singh and Vishesh Bhriguvamshi unable to play, they lack dearly in bench strength and that's what Tamil Nadu would be looking to exploit in Thursday's quarterfinal.
"We came here with a lot of expectation. We need to win," said Uttarakhand's Murali Krishana who is fully aware of his team's weakness. "We know we don't have too many options and that's why try our best not to put ourselves in foul trouble," he said.
