Vidarbha Youth Katol men, Yavatmal's Jai Hind eves win kho-kho titles

NAGPUR: Vidarbha Youth Katol dominated the Vidarbha-level Kho-Kho tournament, organized by the Nav Maharashtra Krida Mandal, which concluded at the Chitnis Park, Mahal.
The Katol-based club captured the all-important men's title and also emerged champions in the sub-junior boys and junior boys to complete the hat-trick. Jai Hind Krida Mandal of Yavatmal retained their title in the women's section.

In an exciting all-Katol men's final, Vidarbha Youth edged past their counterparts Vidarbha Krida Mandal by a solitary point with barely seconds to go for the finish. Ajay Panchbhai, Praful Bhange and Palash Burse were the main architects of Vidarbha Youth triumph. For Vidarbha KM, Shubham Jambhale waged a lone battle. Shubham lacked support from his teammates. The match witnessed several exciting moments and entertained the capacity crowd.
Earlier in the semifinals, Vidarbha Youth defeated hosts Nav Maharashtra KM, while Vidarbha KM shocked defending champions Tuljai KM, Paratwada. Tuljai later claimed the third spot.
Shital Parate, Payal Jadhav and Sweety Zendekar excelled as Jai Hind thumped Amravati's Maratha Friends KM by a point with 4.5 minutes to spare. For the losers, Priti Lanjewar played well. Humanity, Paratwada ousted Chhatrapati Krida and Prasarak Mandal to bag the third position.
Union Minster Nitin Gadkari distributed the prizes. Abhinandan Thorat, Chichu Mangrulkar, Bhau Kane, Dhananjay Kane, Shirish Bhagat and Naresh Shelke were present on the occasion.

Men's: Nilesh Satfale, Shubham Jambhale, Praful Bhange.
Women's: Shital Parate, Payal Jadhav, Priti Lanjewar.
Junior boys: Mahesh Mahajan, Suraj Kavate, Aniket Khandare.
Sub-Junior boys: Samir Harame, Sahil Narnaware, Dipak Dhote.
Sub-Junior girls: Yashoda Umathe, Puja Tawale, Sakhsi Mandewar.
