NEW DELHI: Indian shooter Sift Kaur Samra secured a bronze medal in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions event at the ISSF World Cup on Thursday, demonstrating exceptional skill against formidable competitors.Samra, 23, achieved a score of 453.1 in the eight-player final. In the men's 10m air rifle event, Ankush Jadhav finished 11th in qualifications with 631.7 points. Umamahesh Maddineni scored 632.3 for seventh place but competed only for ranking points. Arjun Babuta and Sandeep Singh finished 43rd and 53rd with scores of 629.1 and 628.3, respectively.Earlier, Emely qualified for the final from ninth position with 590 points, advancing due to two higher-ranked participants competing solely for ranking points.

amra, hailing from Faridkot, Punjab, qualified second with 592 points across kneeling, prone and standing stages. She had previously won gold at the Buenos Aires World Cup this year, following a disappointing performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.France's Agathe Cecile Camille Girard topped qualifications with 592 points, winning on inner 10s count, whilst Switzerland's Audrey Gogniat qualified third.Other Indian participants included Ashi Chouksey (11th, 589 points), Anjum Moudgil (27th, 586 points), Shriyanka Sadangi (53rd, 582 points), and Nischal (60th position).
