NEW DELHI: Renowned Indian wrestler and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Sangram Singh is gearing up for another historic milestone as he prepares to compete in a series of international bouts with Levels Fight League (LFL) — one of Europe’s premier MMA promotions. His first appearance under the LFL banner is scheduled for November 2 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

A former Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion, Sangram will become the first Indian male athlete to compete in MMA at this level. He also holds the distinction of being the first Indian wrestler to successfully transition into MMA and, notably, the first professional wrestler to enter the sport at the age of 40.LFL is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top MMA platforms, known for its elite global roster and world-class events. Sangram’s participation will significantly enhance India’s presence on the international MMA stage, inspiring countless aspiring athletes back home to pursue their combat sports dreams.This time, he will fight in the 93 kg weight category, moving up from his previous 83 kg division, once again pushing boundaries and proving that age and weight are no barriers to ambition.Sangram made headlines late last year with a sensational debut at the Gama International Fighting Championship, where he defeated Pakistan’s Ali Raza Nasir in just 90 seconds.
That win made him the first Indian male wrestler to claim an MMA victory and the fastest in his weight class to do so, showcasing his exceptional grappling skills and rigorous training.“For me, this is not just about a fight — it’s about representing India on the global stage.
