Ace Bailey shines bright during the Summer League game between Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies

Ace Bailey was much in demand during the 2025 NBA draft sessions for a significant reason, which is quite evident now. The former Rutgers Scarlet Knights star stole the limelight with his terrific athletic prowess. Ace Bailey went on to prove that he very well fits into the roster of NBA team Utah Jazz. As the Jazz went on to bridge the first-half double-digit deficit and dominated the Memphis Grizzlies with an overall score of 112-111. After a very basic start to the Summer League games on Saturday, Bailey clearly reminded the NBA world that he was here to stay. Utah Jazz Summer League coach Scott Morrison reacted to Ace Bailey’s great contribution to the team. During a postgame press conference, Morrison said,“I don’t know how many second-chance points he had tonight; he had at least two putback dunks, if not more than that.”
He even managed to divert the attention of Utah Jazz’s head coach, Will Hardy. Bailey mentioned-“I mean, at 18, he called me over to let me know I had a big role.
I had a big, big role. So I’ve just got to fulfill the roles, he’s got trust in me.”
Bailey chipped in three assists—something he managed just six times during his 30-game stint at Rutgers. Though it’s still early in his development, the growth he showed between his first and second games stood out. With his natural talent and physical tools, his potential is clear. Still, despite a few standout performances, Monday’s victory raised concerns about the consistency of the Jazz’s second- and third-year players. Also Read: “Actually Surprised”- Fans react to Rutgers star Ace Bailey joining Utah Jazz after snubbing popular NBA teams
