The Indiana Fever managed to beat the Atlanta Dream 81-76, even though star player Caitlin Clark didn’t make any 3-pointers. It was the first time since 2022 that she didn’t score one. But, Clark managed to win the hearts of the internet and her fans, after she gifted her game-worn shoes to a young female fan after the stunning victory.
How did Indiana Fever secure the stunning victory?
The Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream had a tense game on Thursday, just two days after a close match between them. In the first quarter, Caitlin Clark and Rhyne Howard got into a heated moment and had to be separated after bumping into each other and exchanging words. Clark said, “I’m not scared of you,” as teammates stepped in.
In what turned out to be a sweet little gesture made by Caitlin Clark, has won the internet. After securing a successful win, despite struggles, Clark gifted her game worn shoes to a young fan after the win.
Clark stood tall, as she untied her orange Nike shoes, and gave the shoes to a young fan girl. She smiled and autographed the shoes. Later in the video, the fan could be spotted holding a placard that read, “CC, could I get your jersey please.”
After Clark signed the shoes, the fan was left awestruck. She was super happy.
Clark had 11 points but faced foul trouble and went 0-for-5 from deep. Despite the tough night, the Fever were strong near the basket.
While Natasha Howard scored 26 points, helping Indiana outscore Atlanta 46-20 in the paint. Atlanta managed to hit 10 three-pointers and led late in the game, but Kelsey Mitchell hit a key 3-pointer with 85 seconds left.
The Fever finished strong and won, improving their record to 2-1.
