NEW DELHI: The Denver Nuggets secured a 114-106 victory against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, overcoming the absence of key players Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic's ejection. Reggie Jackson led the short-handed Nuggets with 25 points, while Michael Porter Jr. contributed 17.
Despite missing key players, the Nuggets managed to win for the second consecutive night, building on their victory against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday. The absence of Murray, who rolled his left ankle in the previous game, and the ejection of star player Jokic in the second quarter could have posed significant challenges for Denver.
Jokic was ejected with 1:08 remaining in the second quarter after arguing a no-call as he ran down the floor. The ejection occurred after Jokic missed a layup amid contact from Chicago's Nikola Vucevic. The fans at the United Center expressed their displeasure with the call.
Despite the setbacks, the Nuggets held their ground, and contributions from players like Coby White, who scored 27 points for the Bulls, were not enough to overcome Denver's resilience. Chicago trailed by 16 points in the third quarter but made a comeback to trim the deficit to five before the Nuggets reestablished control.
In addition to Jackson and Porter Jr., Julian Strawther (16 points), Aaron Gordon (14), and Christian Braun (13) scored in double figures for the Nuggets. Vucevic led the Bulls with a 26-point, 16-rebound double-double.
The victory allowed the Nuggets to sweep the season series against the Bulls, with their previous win coming on November 4 with a 22-point margin on their home floor.
