The series explores the emotions that encapsulate teen romance and is said to be Mara Brock Akil’s adaptation of Judy Blume’s classic novel, which had the same name. Hazel Renee expressed love by asking fans to support Mara Brock Akil, whom she called her ‘Good Sis’ in her Instagram story.

Hazel Renee took to her Instagram story to give a celebratory shoutout to Mara Brock Akil on the release of her new series, Forever, on Netflix. She called it a ‘big Mara Brock Akil day’ and requested fans to tune in to the OTT all day, extending support to her TV writer and producer friend. In the caption, she called Mara her ‘Good Sis’, showing love and admiration for her.

Hazel shared the post on her Instagram story to support the cast and crew of the series, and congratulated them for their new creation.

Mara’s OTT adaptation of the novel is released on Netflix on 8th May. it has garnered mixed reactions from Entertainment dailies, and mainstream press. The viewers who have read the novel have appreciated the way the original storyline is retained in the limited series. Critics found that the content is ‘too softened’ and misses the edginess of some scenes that were written in the original novel.
The audience has received the novel’s adaptation as a decent take but with a contemporary touch. Imani Lewis and Jalen Coleman have played the pivotal roles in the series and are receiving lot of love for their honest portrayal of teens very much in love.
