However, recently, the star guard has found himself in the center of a growing controversy, as he is facing backlash over investing in an Israeli cybersecurity startup, reportedly operated by some Israeli military intelligence groups, that are linked to the war in Gaza. Despite being one of the top scorers in the league at the age of 37, and averaging 27.3 points, as per ESPN, this season, and delivering some of his exceptional performances with approximately 5 assists, per ESPN, the focus has shifted from his statistics towards the implications of his recently made business decisions. According to reports by Nate Bear of the "¡Do Not Panic!" website, the investments were made involving U.S. and Israeli startup firms that are reportedly connected to the “Israeli spies”, which are reportedly linked to the ongoing war in Gaza. “American basketball star Stephen Curry is investing in tech startups run by former IDF operatives who were integral to building Israel's digital architecture of apartheid and genocide”, Bear reported."Curry, considered one of the sport's all-time greats and who positions himself as an advocate for social justice, has invested in the companies, both run and staffed by former Israeli spies, through his venture capital firm Penny Jar Capital”, Bear added by writing.
